2 Samuel chapter 1 tells of Judah anointing David and in response Abner anointed Ish-bosheth. Then a civil war ensues. Asahel notably dies at Abner's hand. All of this bloodshed over two big egos. Likewise, the ego of humanity resisted the reign of Jesus Christ and killed him for being "King of the Jews."
