We human beings brought sin into the world. Only one hope remains for us. The Son of God became human in Jesus Christ, died and rose again. Only a fully human who was truly righteous and also fully God could save the world. He completed our sentence. He paid the debt. He covered over what was awful. Anyone who puts trust in him has complete forgiveness of sin.
